Launching Revit Files in Prospect
- Open your file in Revit.
- Create a 3D view of the portion of the model you would like to view in VR. IrisVR only loads the geometry that is visible in the 3D view, including crop boxes.
- Navigate to Add-Ins > View in VR
- Select your custom 3D view from the popup window.
- Enjoy your file in VR!
Materials and Textures
Prospect currently supports the diffuse color, diffuse texture, and tint of Autodesk Materials. To see an accurate preview of how your materials will appear in IrisVR, open up the Revit Material Browser and navigate to the "Appearance" tab.
Similarly to DWG or DXF, Prospect uses the American Institute of Architects Standard to map Revit Categories and Subcategories to layers. Toggling layers is an excellent way to focus on specific aspects of a design file such as MEP or landscaping.
Prospect supports linked Revit files, and will include them if they are part of the Revit 3D view. However, IrisVR does not currently support IFC files, so any linked geometry that is a different format will not be loaded. Please also note that Prospect works best with local files, so if you are having issues loading, try to detach from central and save locally before troubleshooting.
Detail & Textures
Prospect supports a level of detail in-between "Medium" and "Fine" and brings in materials similar to how they would appear in the "Realistic" setting.

Updating Prospect for Revit 2017 Support
For New Users: If you are downloading Prospect (v0.3.7 or newer) for the first time from our downloads page, support for Revit 2017 will automatically appear. We also recommended restarting your computer and Revit once after installing Prospect.
For Existing Users: To receive Revit 2017 support you must be running Prospect (v0.3.5 or newer) which includes our Auto-Update feature. If you are running on an older version of Prospect (v0.3.4 or older) you must uninstall all older versions and reinstall Prospect once more.
Once you have Prospect (v0.3.7) you will not need to do any more installs as updates will happen automatically. After installing Prospect, we also recommended restarting your computer and Revit.
