Oculus has made the choice to stop developing Mac versions of the runtime for their headset, which has limited our ability to support VR on Mac computers. Apple has also been slow to adopt GPUs fast enough to support VR in their computers, which means that they often don't have the processing power required for VR.
With the release of macOS High Sierra and recent hardware updates, Apple is beginning to investigate support for Virtual Reality, and Valve has begun to optimize SteamVR for Mac. As Mac hardware advances, we will continue to evaluate bringing support for Mac computers to Prospect.
We recommend that offices using Mac computers consider purchasing the hardware most compatible with the Oculus or HTC Vive, suggested computers.
