Hi everyone, thanks for all the feedback on this. We just pushed an update to Prospect that should reduce the blue tint significantly. Prospect will auto update, but alternatively you can download the latest build here: https://www.irisvr.com/downloads.

Morning / evening times cast slightly orange light, and midday is the most color accurate to what you would see in SketchUp, Revit, or Rhino. Let us know what you think!

    Hello Shane,
Thank you for your reply, we already talked with Ailyn a little earlier and she explained the why this is happening, but she offered a few solutions that your team will work on it to help us in our upcoming presentation.

But to post here for everybody else and answer your question.

Yes in the previews version there was a plain ambient lighting that help to showcase the colors and material more accurately.

We been using Prospect for a little while now, our designer love it, and this new release it is even better, performance is spot on but sadly for us the color cast (ambient lighting I Am guessing) this color cast seems too intense.

We always have conversations with designer regarding color bleed and what happens in real life, but in this case it seems is too much, actually that's was the first comment we received after the update. "why anything white looks bluish", or if i change the time of the day it turn pinkish. I understand why this could be happening, but it seems distracting now, for interiors.

In our earlier talk I was thinking if we have the option to have one type of ambient light for exteriors and other for interiors would be great. but for the quick run, if the over all ambient lighting was neutral it would really help.  Like White balance in cameras.

    Hope this make seance.

Hi Francisco thanks for your feedback on this and the screenshots are helpful - since yesterday we've seen quite a few comments about the blue tint - the challenge for us is finding the right color balance since many folks are saying that the exteriors look better while interiors are a little too saturated. Here's a video of our old build: https://youtu.be/7Fzxu3hkuXo?t=1m12s. Do you think the lighting is more color accurate there and would be a better experience? We're looking into making a few adjustments now.

Great, thank you Francisco. We're taking in everyone's feedback and we'll get to work! We have a few potential solutions cooking right now and we'll try to give you an update to look at soon.

    Hello Shane,

Here is a link to some photos of our ArchiCAD model converted to Sketchup.

As you'll see, the exterior and interior is very blue. We are looking forward to 1.1

Just want to add - the video link of your old build is much better for interiors. Neutrals being whites and grays - look "neutral". Any updates to get back to this?

We assume there is no real way to "fake" the color back to neutral tones. Can't think of a way to change color temperature because anything we'd try would only show up on a screen monitor's settings and not within the headset experience.

Hi Shane, thanks for your concern.

We just upgraded to the new version after using the beta for a couple months. We are finding the same thing regarding the color cast. In addition to the blue cast on white walls, we are finding our ceilings look brown. While the beta had many issues, especially with complex files, our clients loved the experience. While I agree that the quality of the rendering is now better over all, and I presume the stability is much better, the color issues are so distracting as to make Prospect unusable for the time being.

Agreed that the color was much more tolerable in previous builds.  Everyone has commented on the blue shift.

This topic is marked as answered but while the situation is improved in V1.1.0 I do not consider the problems solved. Horizontal surfaces with light colored materials are still very blue when shadows are on. In the screenshot the same material exists on the top and edge of the counter top. (The sun is set to high noon June 21.) I have sent additional material directly to tech support.

Other surfaces, such wall and ceilings seem fine now.
