If you are using AutoCad 2D and would like to see it in virtual reality using Prospect software, please note that it is currently not possible to do so. Our software, Prospect, works by reading all of the 3D geometry in your file and optimizing it for virtual reality. It does not currently read 2D line work or extrude the 2D line work as geometry.
We suggest taking the AutoCad file into Sketchup, Rhino or Revit as an environment where the 3D geometry can be created and then imported into Prospect.
At the present time, Prospect does not support native AutoCad 3D files. If you have an Autocad 3D file that you would like to see in virtual reality, we recommend the following workflows:
- Import the AutoCad 3D file into Revit, then go to Add-Ins and select "View in VR"
- Export the Autocad 3D file as an OBJ and then import into Prospect
It's possible that either one of these options will not produce perfect results within VR the first time, as they are being converted into Revit and OBJ which can cause loss of data. However, it typically takes a few tweaks to get the geometry to work correctly.
